Many of the brick-and-mortar stores are expanding online to reach more customers. For the local customers, you can add convenience and save them shipping by providing pick-ups.
Simple (Free) Method
This works best if you have only one store location.
- Go to Settings / Shipping
- Add a new shipping method in the region. You can make it weight based (0 and up) or price based (0 and up) to make it available for all scenarios.
- Name it “Pick-Up”. You can also add processing time to it. i.e.: “Pick-Up: 1-2 business days”
That’s it! Just make sure you make note of these orders so you have them ready for the customers. It may be a good idea to tag the orders “Pick-Up” or similar as they come so you can sort them.
Using Apps
There are few apps that can help if you have more than one store locations:
Store Pickup + Delivery
This app allows you to choose among Shipping, Local Delivery, or Pick-Up (at your location).
PUDO Pick Up. Drop Off.
This app works in Canada and USA. You can search by zip code to find your nearest location. You can choose from Pick-Up or Local Delivery.
